Life Lessons: The world doesn't revolve around you... or does it?

I remember as a child, my mother always telling my brother that the world doesn't revolve around him. He was one of those kids that always thought things should go his way, and he's grown up expecting a lot out of life... which isn't neccessarily a bad thing. On the other side of the spectrum, I was the quiet, peaceful kid; the one who was never reminded that the world didn't revolve around me, the one who was always just trying to keep the people around me happy. Yes, even as a child, I was a pushover worried about how other people felt.

Now that I've grown up, I've learned to stand my ground a bit. I've learned that the world does, in fact, revolve around me - or at least my world does. I'm surrounded by some amazingly fantastic people, who make that world go 'round. I've got a great home, in the most beautiful place on earth, with two furry best friends to help keep me sane. There are still pieces missing, but that's ok, because it gives me more to look forward to on the road ahead.

Lately I've been thinking little thoughts in my head about my life as it is today, where I've come from, and where I'm going, and I decided it was time to start writing it all down. Since blogging is the new "dear diary", a new blog is born... and it's going to be all about the world, as it turns around me.

the world really DOES revolve around me!!
